Add a striking flash of gold to your aquarium with our Gold Back Shrimp. These colorful freshwater Neocaridina shrimp are known for the bright golden stripe that runs along their back, creating a beautiful contrast against their body coloration.

Gold Back Shrimp are peaceful, active scavengers that spend their day exploring plants, décor, and aquarium surfaces while grazing on algae, biofilm, and leftover food. Their distinctive dorsal stripe makes them especially eye-catching in planted aquariums.

Each order includes 10 live Gold Back Shrimp.

Why We Like Gold Back Shrimp

  • Distinctive golden dorsal stripe
  • Beautiful coloration that stands out in planted tanks
  • Peaceful freshwater shrimp
  • Natural algae and biofilm grazers
  • Active and entertaining to watch
  • Easy to care for in an established aquarium

Axolotl Tank Mate Information

Gold Back Shrimp can be kept with axolotls, but they may be eaten. Axolotls are opportunistic predators, so any shrimp small enough to fit in an axolotl's mouth should be considered a potential snack.

Providing live plants, hides, and other cover gives shrimp more places to explore and retreat.
