Amazon Frogbit

Amazon Frogbit is a beautiful floating freshwater plant with smooth, rounded green leaves and long trailing roots that create a natural, jungle-like look in the aquarium.

It is an excellent choice for axolotl, shrimp, and planted freshwater aquariums because it provides shade, helps reduce harsh overhead lighting, and gives shrimp and other small aquatic animals extra cover and grazing surfaces. Its long roots also collect biofilm and microorganisms that shrimp naturally forage on.

Amazon Frogbit grows directly on the water's surface, so there is no need to plant it in substrate. Under good conditions, it can spread quickly and help absorb excess nutrients from the water column.

Important care note: Keep the tops of the leaves as dry as possible. Heavy surface agitation, splashing, or constantly wet leaves can cause Frogbit to deteriorate. Thin it periodically so it does not completely cover the water surface.
