The GFP Dirty Lucy Axolotl combines one of the most recognizable axolotl morphs with the unique glow of the GFP gene. These axolotls have the pale pink-to-white coloration and dark eyes associated with Leucistic axolotls, along with the distinctive dark freckling that gives Dirty Lucys their name.
What makes the GFP Dirty Lucy even more unique is the Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) gene. Under appropriate blue or UV-style lighting, GFP axolotls can display a bright green fluorescent glow, making their coloration and markings even more striking.
Every GFP Dirty Lucy is unique. Freckling can range from a few scattered spots to much heavier pigmentation across the face and body, and the amount of freckling may continue to develop as the axolotl grows.

GFP stands for Green Fluorescent Protein. GFP axolotls may fluoresce bright green when exposed to appropriate blue or UV-style lighting. GFP does not mean the axolotl constantly glows in normal room lighting.
Avoid prolonged exposure to bright or UV lighting. Axolotls naturally prefer dimly lit environments.
Color, freckling, pattern, size, and GFP expression will vary between individual axolotls. Photos are representative unless the product is specifically listed as an individually photographed axolotl.
Live animals should always be housed in a properly cycled aquarium with cool, clean water and appropriate axolotl-safe filtration and décor.
