Salvinia Water Spangles

Salvinia Water Spangles are an easy-to-grow floating freshwater plant that adds natural cover, helps reduce excess nutrients, and gives aquariums a lush, finished look. Their small, textured green leaves float across the water's surface while their submerged roots provide extra surface area for biofilm and beneficial microorganisms.

Salvinia can be especially useful in axolotl and shrimp aquariums because it provides shade and helps soften bright overhead lighting. It also absorbs nutrients directly from the water column, which can help support a more balanced aquarium when used alongside proper filtration and regular maintenance.

Because Salvinia is a floating plant, it does not need to be planted in substrate. Simply place it on the water's surface and allow it to spread naturally.
