Water Sprite (Ceratopteris thalictroides) or Indian Fern is a popular plant in the hobby as it is an easy to grow stem plant that does well in medium to low lighting. Water Sprite can be either planted in substrate or floated. Its fine, lace-like leaves are great for providing a different element in a planted tank and is also great to provide cover for shrimp or small fish. Definitely one of our favorite aquarium plants because of its versatility.

Before adding to your aquarium

Remove the shipping packaging and any pot, planting wool, or weights as appropriate. Rinse and inspect the plant, and quarantine new plants separately before introduction. Choose planting depth and substrate for the species. Keep rooted crowns and bulbs from being buried too deeply, and remove damaged leaves during establishment.
