Salvinia Natans (Floating Fern): Floating fern for freshwater aquariums and suitable pond layouts; manage surface coverage.

Salvinia Natans is a floating plant that will add a touch of natural beauty to any aquarium or pond. This unique plant is known for its ability to reduce nitrates and provide shelter for fish and shrimp, creating a healthy and balanced aquatic environment.

They maintain water quality by absorbing nitrates through their roots and also provide great coverage for shrimplets or other fish fry. They grow pretty quickly under high-lighted conditions and are a fast-growing beginner plant!

Before adding to your aquarium

Remove the shipping packaging and any pot, planting wool, or weights as appropriate. Rinse and inspect the plant, and quarantine new plants separately before introduction. Trim growth regularly and remove loose or decaying material. Keep floating plants from covering the entire water surface.

Match temperature and lighting to the plant and your livestock. This listing is part of our general freshwater plant range; browse our axolotl plant selection for more focused options.

Shipping and natural variation
